Thomas (Tommy) Corrigan, Farnagh Glebe, Longford Town, Longford


The death occurred on Monday, August 14, 2023 of Thomas (Tommy) Corrigan, Farnagh Glebe, Longford. Thomas will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, mother Ann, father Patrick (Packie), fiancée Denise, sons Jake, Tadhg and Dean and their mother Linda, brother Patrick , sisters Edel Spollen, Theresa Costello, Julie-ann, Helena and Rosie, brothers-in-law Paul and John, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Tuesday, August 22 from 5.30pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Wednesday, August 23 in St Mel’s Cathedral at 11am, followed by private cremation. The Mass will be streamed live please go to www.longfordparish.com

Emer Fox, Edderland, Ballinalee, Longford / Clondalkin, Dublin


The death occurred  peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 20, 2023 of Emer Fox, Ballinalee, Co Longford and late of St John’s Lawn, Clondalkin, Co Dublin. Predeceased by her beloved sister-in-law Julie. Emer will be sadly missed and fondly remembered with love by her heartbroken family, father Jimmy, mother Annamay, brothers Seamus, Gerard, Declan, Ciaran, Fintan and Colm, her loving partner Gary, Mary and Jimmy, sisters-in-law, partner, adored nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and a wide circle of friends. Removal from her home in Edderland to arrive at Holy Trinity Church, Ballinalee (N39 PP60) at 7pm on Tuesday evening, August 22. Mass of the Resurrection in Holy Trinity Church on Wednesday afternoon, August 23 at 12pm followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, County Cavan (H12 RF78). House private please. Patrick (Paddy) Rhatigan, 21 St Matthew's Park, Ballymahon, Co Longford


The death occurred peacefully on Friday, August 18, 2023 of Patrick (Paddy) Rhatigan, 21 St Matthew's Park, Ballymahon, Co Longford. Predeceased by his wife Mairead (née Warnock). Sadly missed by his loving daughter Patricia, son James, daughter-in-law Upile, son-in-law Frank, sister Alice, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, and friends. Rest in peace.
Reposing in Kelly's Funeral Home (Athlone Road, Longford, N39 K381) on Tuesday, August 22 from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, August 23 at noon in St Matthew's Church, Ballymahon. Burial in St Coman's Cemetery (2 Athlone Road, Ardsallagh Móir, Roscommon, F42 CH64).

Mark Fallon, Caramana, Longford


The death occurred, in the loving care of the staff of University Hospital Galway, surrounded by his loving family, after a long illness bravely borne, on Saturday, August 19, 2023 of Mark Fallon, Caramana, Longford. Predeceased by his dear parents Pat and Celine. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Catherine (née Dunne), his darling children Nicole and Tara, sisters Regina and Deirdre, brothers-in-law Maurice, Steven, Declan and Padraig, sisters-in-law Deidre and Dolores, mother-in-law Maura Dunne, nieces Kaitlyn, Lauren and Caoimhe, nephews Evan, Daire and Diarmaid, cousins, uncles and aunts, especially Teresa and Eugene, relatives and many good friends and neighbours. Removal from his home on Tuesday, August 22 arriving to Saint Mary’s Church, Lanesboro for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Clonbonny Cemetery. Michael (Mick) McCormack, Main Street, Ballaghaderreen, Co Roscommon


The death occurred  peacefully at University Hospital, Castlebar, with his family by his side on Sunday, August 20, 2023 of Michael (Mick) McCormack, Main Street, Ballaghaderreen, Co Roscommon (August 28, 1963 - August 20, 2023).
Predeceased by his father Patrick (Pa). Sadly missed and remembered with love by his heartbroken family, his mother Phyllis (Phyll), brother John, sister Maria Walsh (Renmore, Galway), nephew Rory, nieces Laura, Aoife, Michelle, Ciara, Niamh and Dearbhla, grandnephews and nieces Jack, Eva, Alison, Kate, Conor, Caden, Luke, Léana, Thea, Elliot and Evan, brother-in-law Gabriel, sister-in-law Patricia, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends. Mick will repose in The Sharkey Funeral Home, Ballaghaderreen on Tuesday, August 22 from 5pm until 7.30pm. Mick will be removed from the funeral home on Wednesday, August 23 at 11.30am to St. Nathy’s Cathedral, Ballaghaderreen (via New Street and Main Street) arriving for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon, followed by interment in Kilcolman Cemetery. The death occurred, peacefully, in the loving care of her family and the staff of the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, on Saturday, August 19, 2023 of Rita Corrigan (née Gilmurray), Knockadoon, Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath and formerly of Lisanurlan, Longford, Co Longford. Greatly missed by her devoted husband Donal, and her loving children Donal, Diarmuid, Brigid, Maeve, Síle, Fergus, John, Mary, Catherine, Claire and Elizabeth; her 21 grandchildren; sons-in-law/daughters-in-law/partners; brothers Hugh and John, sisters Sr Immaculata, Terry, Mary, Margaret and Elizabeth; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nephews, nieces and all her extended family, neighbours and friends. The death occurred peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in his 89th year surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 20, 2023 of John Walsh, Windmill House, Windmill Road, Drogheda, Co Louth and formerly of Cornafean, Cavan and Beaumont, Dublin.
John, predeceased by his wife Kathleen. The death occurred peacefully, in the loving care of the Matron and staff of the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar on Monday, August 21 of Mary McLoughlin (née Kilcoyne), Kiltoom, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath.
Predeceased by her husband Michael and parents Peter and Ann (Kilcoyne). Sadly missed by Peter, Theresa, her sister Nora (England), brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbours, relatives and friends. May Mary Rest In Peace.
Reposing at the Hospital Mortuary, Castlepollard Road, Mullingar on Wednesday, August 23 from 4.30pm to 7pm, followed by removal to the Church of St John the Baptist, Whitehall, arriving at 7.30pm. Jack Cabena, Ballyleague, Roscommon
The death occurred, peacefully,  in the compassionate care of the dedicated staff of Roscommon Hospice, on Saturday, August 19, 2023 of Jack Cabena, Ballyleague, Roscommon. Much loved husband, father and grandfather. Jack will be sadly missed by his wife Noeleen, son Philip and daughter Jill, his daughter in law Riann, grandson Ronan, Jill’s partner Jake and the extended family, many good friends and neighbours.

The death occurred on Thursday, August 3, 2023 of Bridget Teresa McKeon (née Daly), Chadwell Heath, Essex, late of Forest Gate, London and Manchester and formerly of Aughnacliffe, Co Longford.
Beloved wife of Francis (Frank). Devoted mother to Francis, Anthony and Paul. She will be sadly missed by her husband, sons, sister Philomena (Fox), sister-in-law Rose Reilly, her cherished grandchildren Keeleigh, Daniel and Holly, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, extended family and her many friends in London, Manchester and Co Longford. Removal from Smith's Funeral Home, Granard (N39AX97) on Thursday evening, September 7 to St Colmcille’s Church, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford (N39K603) arriving at 7.30pm. Funeral Mass on Friday, September 8 at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

Gerry Dolan, Callanagh, Kilcogy, Cavan


The death occurred, suddenly and unexpectedly after a short illness in London, on Thursday, August 17, 2023 of Gerry Dolan, Callanagh, London and Callanagh, Kilcogy. Predeceased by his parents Joe and Bonnie, his brother Martin and his nephew Marty. Sadly missed by his heartbroken brothers Seamus (Josie) Declan, John (Cathy), sisters Ann (Martin), Brid, Margaret (John), his devoted nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins and special mention to his London colleagues and many friends at home and abroad.
His giant presence will be sadly missed. May he rest in peace.

John will be sadly missed by his cousins, brother-in-law Bernie Early (Mary), Marcella's niece Michelle, nephews John (Ali) and Brendan (Diane), friend Gloria, extended family, neighbours and friends. The death occurred peacefully following a short illness in the company of his loving wife and family and in the tender care of the staff at St Camillus Nursing Centre, Killucan on Sunday, August 20, 2023 of James Etherson, Coole, Mullingar, Co Westmeath and late of Kilrea, Co Derry.
Predeceased by his beloved daughter Gráinne. James will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Rita, his beloved daughter Geraldine, his dear sons Paul, Seamus, Damian and Karol, adored grandchildren, sons-in-law Gerry and Tom, daughters-in-law Racheal, Patsy, Susan and Denise, sisters Bernie and Jean, brothers Gerald, Bobby, Patsy, Danny and Harry, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends. The death occurred peacefully at home in the loving care of his family on Thursday, August 3, 2023 of  Philip Bernard Donoghue (Ben), Radlett, Hertfordshire and formerly of Garadice, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim.
Predeceased by his mother Bridget and father Peter and brother Joseph. The deathoccurred on Tuesday August 1, 2023 of Mary Anne (Marie) Reynolds (nee Lynch), Streatham, London and Warlingham, Surrey and  late of Castlepollard, Co Westmeath. Wife of the late JP (Seamus) Reynolds (RIP March 28, 2020), late of Belturbet. Deeply missed by daughters Mary and Siobhan, brother Sean, grandchildren Conor, Ronan, Niamh, Sophie and Juliette, extended family and friends.
