Tom Hutchinson, Oaklawns, Mullingar, Westmeath / Newtownforbes, Longford / East Wall, Dublin


The death occurred, peacefully in the company of his loving family and the gentle care of the staff at the Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar, on Sunday, February 26, 2023 of Tom Hutchinson, Oaklawns, Mullingar, Co Westmeath and formerly of Newtownforbes, Co Longford and East Wall, Dublin.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Dolores. Tom will be very sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family Tom, Dave, Jen, Dolores, Denise and Serena, his much loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Brenda, sons-in-law Pat, Dave and Rory, sisters Tessie and Joanie, relatives, friends and neighbours. Reposing at Gilsenan's Funeral Home (N91 K660) on Tuesday, February 28 from 4pm followed by removal to the Cathedral of Christ the King arriving at 6pm. Tom's Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, March 1 at 11am and may be viewed live on www.mullingarparish.ie

Mairead Curley (née Duignan), Ardmore, Donamon, Roscommon / Aughnacliffe, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, in the devoted care of the staff at Sonas Nursing Home, Cloverhill, on Sunday, February 26, 2023 of Mairead Curley (née Duignan), Ardmore, Donamon, Co Roscommon and formerly of Aughnacliffe, Co Longford. Beloved wife of the late Sean, sister of the late Seamus and much loved mother to Therese. She will be forever missed by her loving daughter, son-in-law Marty Kenny, her three adored grandchildren Robbie, Jenny and Katie, brother Peadar, sister Sheila, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. May Mairead rest in peace.
Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon on Tuesday evening, February 28 from 5pm until 6.30pm followed by removal to St Patrick’s Church, Clooneycolgan. Mass of the Resurrection on Wednesday, March 1 at 11am. Burial afterwards in Kilbegnet Cemetery. Mairead’s family very much appreciate your kindness and support at this time. The death occurred on Thursday, February 23, 2023 of Michael Dowler, Retired Irish Defence Forces, 28 Tormey Villas, Athlone, Co Westmeath and formerly of Legan, Co Longford. Sadly missed by his loving wife Alice, sons John & Michael, daughters Lynda (Dolan), Audrey (Dowler) & Maria (Heffernan), brothers, sisters, in-laws, his adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and many friends. The death occurred, peacefully surrounded by his family at the Blackrock Clinic, Dublin, on Thursday, February 23, 2023 of Martin McLoughlin, The old Rectory, Templemichael, Longford town. Predeceased by his parents Paddy and Evelyn and by his sister Frances. Martin will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, wife Breda, daughter Ruth (McNally), sons Shane and Ian, daughter-in-law Claire, son-in-law James, grandchildren Faye and Edie, sister Connie, brothers Fergus and Mervyn, sisters-in-law , brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The death occurred, peacefully at Galway University Hospital, on Sunday, February 26, 2023 of Jovita Marques, 36 Meadowbrook, Ballyleague, Co Roscommon and formerly of Madeira. She will be very sadly missed by her son Carlos, daughters Susana, Simone and Paula, their Dad Manuel, her sister Maria Gill, grandchildren Savio, Rayanne, Nicolle, Sarah, Laura, Rebecca and Lorenzo, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at her home in Meadowbrook N39 K3V9 all day Tuesday, February 28. Removal from her home on Wednesday morning, March 1 to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Ballyleague arriving for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am. Burial afterwards in Cloontuskert Cemetery. The death occurred, suddenly, on Thursday, February 23, 2023 of David Rice, Roscommon town and formerly of Cloontuskert, Lanesboro, Co Roscommon. Dad to Jake, Kyle, Lauren and the late baby Lucie. He will be greatly missed by his children, their mum Helen, his parents John and Mary, sisters Siobhán (Curran) and Jenny (Rooney), brothers-in-law David and Joey, nephew, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. The death occurred, peacefully, in the loving care of all the staff of Arus Carolan Nursing Unit, Mohill in his 99th year, on Saturday, February 25, 2023 of Michael (Mike Joe) Ward, Rosharry, Mohill, Leitrim. Predeceased by his brother Sean, sister Kathleen (Lowe). Deeply regretted by his sister Maura Stenson (Carrick on Shannon), brother Seamus and sister-in-law Margaret (Hill Street, Mohill). Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, Joan, Regina, Gerard, Patricia, Helen, Kathleen, Michelle, Marie, Brendan, John, Chris and their extended families, grand nieces and nephews and friends. Beautiful and beloved daughter of Michelle; sister to Alan; adored granddaughter of Michael and Maura. Fondly remembered by Michael, Natasha, Maelisa and Jessica, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, work colleagues within the NHS West London Mental Health Trust, neighbours and a large circle of friends throughout Ireland and the UK. The death occurred, peacefully, in her 99th year in the tender care of nurses and staff of Sonas Nursing Home, on Sunday, February 26, 2023 of Adelaide Foley (née Kelly), Beech Park, Athlone, Co Westmeath.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Thomas B. and her daughter Martina (Donnelly). Sadly missed by her loving daughters Ann and Carmel, son Thomas, in-laws, granddaughters Natasha and Sarah (Donnelly), nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends. May She Rest In Peace.

The death occurred, peacefully and surrounded by her loving family after a short illness under the watchful care of the staff in Tullamore general hospital, on Thursday, February 23, 2023 of Toni Kenny (nee Pistorius), Ballynaccargy, Co Westmeath and formerly of Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, Belfast and Dublin. Toni will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, loving husband Darren, daughter Teagan, parents Kathy Dunbar and Theo Pistorius, sisters Tanya Purdham and Tara Dunbar, brother Trey Dunbar, Grandparents Aubrey and Diane Brooks, father in-law John Kenny (Lanesboro), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and many friends throughout Ireland, England and her homeland South Africa.
Cremation will take place on Wednesday, March 1 at Lakelands Crematorium at 11am. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to Irish Cancer Society of Ireland or Tullamore hospital.

Ann Nolan (née Reilly), The Square, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath


The death occurred, peacefully, at the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, surrounded by her heartbroken family, on Thursday, February 23, 2023 of Ann (Nancy) Nolan (née Reilly), The Square, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath and formerly of Ballinvalley, Oldcastle, Co Meath. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Paddy, son Alan, daughter Jacqueline, grandson Jamie, daughter-in-law Patricia, sisters Bridie Aughey (Turin), Peggy Gallia (Oldcastle), brother Bartle Reilly (Oldcastle), nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Reposing at Portiuncula Nursing Home, Multyfarnham on Sunday, February 26 from 4pm until 6.30pm, followed by removal via Coole to St Michael’s Church, Castlepollard, arriving at 7.30pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, February 27 at 12 noon, followed by cremation ceremony at the Lakelands Funeral Home and Crematorium, Cavan at 2.30pm. Ann Cullen (nee Thorne), La Montagne, France and formerly Dublin Street and Deanscurragh, Longford


The death occurred of Ann Cullen (nee Thorne), La Montagne, France, daughter of the late William and Catherine Thorne Dublin Street and Deanscurragh, Longford. Ann died in Maulin's Centre Hospital La Montagne, France where she lived for over fifty years with her husband Terry.
She is survived by her husband Terry, formerly of Main St Longford, her brothers Mattie and Frank, relatives and friends.
A commemorative Mass will be held for Ann in St Mel's Cathedral on Sunday, March 12 at 10am.

Noreen (Nora) Josephine Atkinson (Landy NÉE Wallace) England and late of New Kiltoom, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath / Louisburgh, Mayo


The death occurred, peacefully, on Friday, January 13, 2023 of Noreen (Nora) Josephine Atkinson (Landy née Wallace), Ruislip, Middlesex, England and formerly of New Kiltoom, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath and Louisburgh, Co Mayo. Beloved wife of Brian and the late Eamonn and dear mother of Paul and Louise. Noreen will be very sadly missed by her husband and family, son-in-law Gary, daughter-in-law Jackie, her cherished grandchildren Natasha, Heather, Aidan, Pearse and Christy, her brothers Anthony, Stephen and Tommy, sister Mary, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends. May Noreen rest in peace.
Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, February 13, 2023, at 1pm at Our Lady of the Visitation Church, Greenford, Middlesex, England, followed by cremation at Breakspear Crematorium, Ruislip. The Mass can be viewed at Our Lady of the Visitation
A Memorial Mass will take place on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 12 noon in the Church of St John the Baptist, Whitehall, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath followed by interment of ashes in the adjoining cemetery. In preference to flowers, Brian, Paul and Louise would appreciate donations to Alzheimer's Research UK (JustGiving)
