The death occurred, in the presence of her loving family and in the exceptional care of the staff of Sunset Lodge, Saint Joseph’s Care Centre, Dublin Road, Longford, on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 of Gertrude (Gaye) Fallon (née Cox), Greenhall, Newtowncashel, Longford. Predeceased by her loving husband Michael, brother Geoffrey, sisters May, Sr Eileen and Sr Patricia. Deeply missed by her daughter Margarita, son Johnny, son-in-law Kenneth, daughter-in-law Annette, grandchildren Maria, Michael and Aeveen, sisters Alice (U.K) and Theresa, brother-in-law Vincent, sister-in-law Mary (U.K), nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest In Peace.
Reposing at Kelly’s Funeral Home, Athlone Road, Longford, N39 K381, on Wednesday, January 4 from 4:30pm until 6pm, followed by removal to The Church Of The Blessed Virgin, Newtowncashel, arriving at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday, January 5 at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in Cashel Cemetery. The Mass will be streamed live, please go to www.churchtv.ie/newtowncashel

The death occurred, suddenly, at home in Dublin with her family, on Monday, January 2, 2023 of Rosemary McManus, Clonsilla, Dublin / Lanzarote, Spain and formerly of Longford. Predeceased by her father Maurice, the late Rosemary will be loved and remembered by her beloved son Jack, daughter Sarah, husband John, grandson Shaun, son-in-law Karl, her loving mother Rosaleen, brother Conor, sisters Mairead and Stephanie, aunt, uncle, her extended family in Ireland and Lanzarote and friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Clonsilla on Friday evening, January 6 between 6 pm and 8pm. Removal on Saturday morning, January 7 to the Church of St Philip the Apostle, Mountview arriving for Funeral Mass at 10.30 am followed by cremation in Glasnevin Crematorium. Seamus Kenny, Castlerea Mountain, Moydow, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, at the Regional Hospital, Tullamore, on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 of Seamus Kenny, Castlerea Mountain, Moydow, Longford. Predeceased by his mother Bridget, his father Bernard, his sister Bridie and his sister-in-law Doreen. Sadly missed by his loving brother Barney, his niece Eimear, his nephews Bryan, Eoin, James and Emmet, their wives and partners, cousins, neighbours, relatives and many friends. Rest in peace.
Reposing in Our Lady's Manor Nursing Home Chapel, Edgeworthstown, on Thursday, January 5 from 5.30pm, with prayers at 8pm. Removal on Friday, January 6 via Ardagh Village to St Mary's Church, Moydow, arriving for Funeral Mass at 1pm. Burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Mel McWeeney, Ardnacassa Lawns, Dublin Road, Longford Town, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, on Sunday, January 1, 2023 of Mel McWeeney, Ardnacassa Lawns, Dublin Road, Longford Town, Longford. Predeceased by his mother Margaret (nee Farrell) and by his father Cathal. Mel will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, sister Margaret Mary (Lieb), brother Padraic, sister-in-law Janet, brother-in-law Jonathan, nieces, nephew, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

The death occurred, peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the exceptional care of the nurses and staff of Sunset Lodge at St Joseph’s Care Centre, on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 of Bernadette (Bernie) Farrell (née Gilroy), MacEoin Park, Longford Town, Longford. Bernie will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, husband Michael, daughters Yvonne Bane (Galway), Michelle and Gillian, son Richard, daughter-in-law Delia, son-in-law Alan, Michelle’s fiancé John, grandchildren Alex, Daniel, Jamie, Dylan, Gavin and Michael, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, relatives, extended family and friends. The death occurred, suddenly at the Mater Private Hospital, on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 of Patrick (Patsy) Briody, Aughavains, Gowna, Cavan. Predeceased by his beloved wife Elizabeth, his daughter Kathleen Bouchier, daughter-in-law Margaret, brother Tom and sisters Rose Fitzpatrick and Bridgie Lee. Much loved father of Padraig, Seamus, Anna (McGahern), Thomas, Elizabeth (Shannon), Sean and Brendan, daughters-in-law Annemarie, Sheila, Patsie, Vera and Mags, sons-in-law; Mel, Pat and Aidan, brother Jimmy, sisters; Maureen and Kathleen, sister-in-law Nora, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and extended family members. Predeceased by her husband Jack and daughters Rosemary and Theresa. Sadly missed by her sons Gerard and Joe and daughter Martina, sister Nanny Lyons, grand-daughter Melissa, grandsons Cian and Oisín, daughters-in-law Dearbhla and Geraldine, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Michael Patrick Greene, Strokestown, Roscommon


The death occurred, peacefully, in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 of Michael Patrick Greene, of Birmingham, and formerly of Strokestown, Roscommon. Predeceased by his brothers, Frank, Anthony, Tommy, Johnny and sister Mary and wives Kitty and Maureen. Michael deeply regretted and remembered by his sisters Peggy and Nancy and brother-in-law Tom Fisher, and John Orahoe, daughter Pamela, son-in-law Lou sons Kieran and Adrian, daughter-in-laws, Helen and Caroline, grandchildren, Nicholas, Eleanor, Alexis, Talia, Francesca, Marijka, Lorna, Cairstine and Patric. Great grandchildren, Harry, Rory, Conor and Douglas. Also by his many nephews and nieces.
Requiem Mass on Friday, January 27 at 11:30 am at St Joseph's and Helen's Kings Norton, Birmingham, followed by cremation at Lodge Hill Crematorium, Selly Oak, Birmingham. May he rest in peace.
