Abbeyshrule to host 'Drive into the Night' Xmas Tractor Run

Santa Claus is visiting Clonmel on Saturday afternoon to officially switch on the Christmas lights

Abbeyshrule is set to be lit up by Christmas tractors on Sunday, December 9, with the 'Drive into the Night' Christmas Lights Tractor Run kicking off once it gets dark.

Registration for the event takes place at 3.30pm and tractors will set off from Abbeyshrule at 5pm. They will arrive in Ballymahon at 6.30pm. The route itself is 16km long.

Entry per tractor is €20 and funds raised will go towards Mental Health Ireland and Abbeyshrule Tidy Towns.

There will be Christmas-themed carriage rides - pulled by a tractor of course - in the village before the run, and a raffle afterwards with a number of great prizes donated by local businesses.

There will also be a presentation for the best decorated tractor as well as refreshments and music in the village.
