Bluebird Care achieves ISO 9001 Certification and a further 22 jobs announced for Longford, Roscommon and Westmeath

Bluebird Care, homecare provider for Longford, Roscommon and Westmeath (LRW), achieves ISO accreditation in October 2018. Declan O’ Connor CEO of BQAI who was Lead Assessor was on hand to present Bluebird Care with certification.

Bluebird Care (LRW) is a nurse led homecare provider which is HSE approved. It provides a comprehensive range of quality homecare and supports in the community for people of all ages and diverse needs while also catering for the private sector.

Mr. Oliver Daly, Managing Director, MSc is a passionate advocate of care in the home as distinct from institutional care: “Our decision to work towards ISO 9001 accreditation demonstrates our commitment to providing a high-quality and consistent service to our clients and our ongoing investment in clinical governance, processes and procedures. To become ISO 9001 compliant, Bluebird Care (LRW) underwent an intensive evaluation process that included quality management system development, a management system documentation review, pre-audit, initial assessment, and clearance of non-conformances, all of which work to identify corrective actions that eliminate

non-conformance to the quality management standard”.

Kevin 'Boxer' Moran, Minister for the Office of Public Works who was in attendance stated that “Great credit is due to Ollie and his team and what they are doing for older people in the community. I know personally of people who are availing of their service and hold it in very high regard”.

Mr. Oliver Daly explained that “our dedicated staff are now providing twice as many care hours over the three counties’ than we were this time last year. We now also provide complex nursing care and we wish to extend this service by hiring 10 more nursing staff and 12 additional healthcare assistants.

Our absolute priority is to enable people to live independent and fulfilled lives in their own surroundings among family and friends; to provide service delivered by an efficient team of health care professionals”.
