Richmount Cordial Company, which is based in Carrickboy, was among the winners at the Bank of Ireland Start-up Awards, which were held at the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin recently.

The company, which is run by husband-and-wife team David and Martina Burns picked up a bronze award at the event, which was held on Friday, October 24.

“We were surprised,” Martina admitted.

“We were up against some prestigious companies who have been on the market longer than us.

“We’re happy to bring this award home to Longford.”

Speaking about the company’s growth, Martina said that their products are now stocked in over 60 shops nationwide, before revealing that Richmount Cordial Company has been accepted as a member of Good Food Ireland.

“We had to be inspected first and we were approved this week,” she added.

November is a busy month for the entrepreneurial couple, who will be representing Richmount Cordial Company at the Food Summit in the RDS, Dublin, this week, before showcasing their products at the 10th annual McCambridges’ Food and Wine Fare in Galway, while they have also been invited to attend SuperValu’s Food Academy conference on November 20.
