The AGM will take place in Bridgeways Family Resource Centre

The New Playground for Ballymahon Action Group was delighted to be joined by twenty people at it's first public meeting in Ballymahon last week.

In total, over 30 people supportively engaged with the group expressing an interest in working towards the redevelopment of the playground in Ballymahon either by attending or through correspondence.

The search for the new site for the playground continues to be the main focus and the group is appealing to landowners around the town to consider whether they might be interested in being involved or leasing a parcel of suitable land to the group for this purpose.

Longford County Council has indicated that the need to move the playground from the current site has been identified and that the support of a dedicated community-based committee will be very welcome to help achieve this. The New Playground Action Group is also extremely grateful to two other local fundraising efforts for identifying the Playground cause to support:

Ballymahon Niftys Honda 50 & Motorbike Fun Run and County Longford Ploughing Association. The Action Group looks forward to actively supporting these fundraising efforts.

During the public meeting and since, community members, local voluntary groups and elected representatives have offered their support and expertise with matters relating to fundraising, designing plans and identifying suitable locations for the project.

On foot of the constructive discussion at the first public meeting, an AGM will now be held on Thursday next, March 5 at 8.30pm in Bridgeways Family Resource Centre.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend so that we may take a further step forward together.
