Uisce Éireann progresses commissioning works to future‑proof Ballymahon’s water supply
Uisce Éireann is continuing to progress significant upgrades to the water network in Ballymahon, with the next stage of works moving into the commissioning phase of the newly installed network along the N55.
To safely commission the new infrastructure, a planned interruption will take place on Tuesday, 10 February. Customers in the Ballymahon and Kilcurry areas may experience low water pressure or temporary loss of supply between 1pm and 5pm while crews connect the newly constructed watermain to the existing network. Supply will begin to return gradually as the network recharges.

In addition to this interruption, a number of short, localised interruptions will be required over the next three weeks to facilitate further connections along the route of the new watermain. These brief interruptions will support the safe and timely commissioning of the upgraded infrastructure and will be communicated locally as they arise.
Speaking about the works, Dave Murphy, Portfolio Manager with Uisce Éireann, said: “Commissioning and testing the new network is an important step before it can be fully operational. These upgrades will significantly strengthen the water network and ensure a more secure water supply for the community. We want to thank all residents and businesses for their continued patience and cooperation as we deliver these long‑term improvements for the area.
