Team coach Mr Mc Hugh thanked the school community for the support given including all the supporters who travelled to the matches to cheer on the team throughout the season. He also paid special thanks to Ms Keenehan for her dedication to developing basketball in the school over the last few years and to Ms Jones for looking after the team’s gear and making sure it was ready for match days. Team captain Clinton also spoke, thanking the coaches, students and school community for their support over the year. The school would like to thank all who spoke on the day, and especially Chairperson Peggy for taking the time to attend and mark the occasion with the team.
Numeracy Competition
The Numeracy committee recently ran a competition challenging students to estimate the amount of money in a jar. A prize was awarded to the student from each year group who made the closest estimate. Well done to the winners from each year, who were recently presented with their One4All gift vouchers: 1st yr: Logan Stokes; 2nd Yrs: David Da Luz and Bukunmi Sotunde; 3rd Yrs: Zak O’Conner and Callum Reilly; 5th year/LCA 1: Emilia Shustova and 6th: Saoirse Stephens. Thank you to Ms Fallon and the Numeracy Committee for organising this fun and engaging competition, which helped promote students’ numeracy skills, particularly in money and estimation.
