Longford County Council urged ‘to move’ on construction of 13 new houses in Ballymahon
A Fianna Fáil councillor has asked the local authority to try to 'move on' the construction of 13 houses in the Ballymahon area.
Cllr O'Toole stated the housing in Drinan is 'at stage one approved but is now on hold' at the recent Ballymahon Municipal District meeting.

"I think I made this point before but Uisce Éireann have clarified the position about the wastewater treatment plant and it should not be an impediment nowadays to a housing estate progressing on the basis that whoever the developer or builder is will have to pay in an extra bond of €30,000 to €40,000 to put in a temporary system.
"And then if it's actually not connected in due course to the new system in Ballymahon then Uisce Éireann themselves would do it.

"So, I'd like to see that particular project progressing and I think there is no reason why it should be held up now.”
Cllr O'Toole urged the council to 'move on that' and try to ensure there is further developments.
