'Helping youth flourish': Longford Comhairle na nÒg involved in several vital initiatives

Longford Comhairle na nÒg Coordinator Frank Tung is looking forward to another busy year in 2026

Longford Comhairle na nÒg was involved in several positive local initiatives during 2025 and Coordinator Frank Tung is looking forward to another busy year in 2026. 

During 2025 Longford Comhairle na nÒg was involved with the compilation and distribution of 800 Exam Stress Study Packs for Leaving Certificate students across the county.

Comhairle na nÒg members took part in the Refurbish Workshop which was organised by the Longford County Council Climate Team in conjunction with Longford (EDI) Employment Development and Information Centre, REVAMP Longford.

During the Microsoft Dreamspace STEM event, Longford Comhairle na nÒg hosted a virtual reality stand and they promoted Comhairle to primary school pupils.

Frank explained, "Our annual Youth Conference took place in October in the Longford Arms Hotel and this gave an opportunity to students from all nine post-primary schools in Longford to voice their opinions on what matters to young people."

Longford Comhairle na nÒg  also gave their support and backing to 'Not Around Us', a new awareness campaign asking everyone to consider young people present in public spaces and to make these places smoke-free and vape-free environments.
