WATCH: What to expect at Longford's exciting new Family Fest!
Longford Family Fest kicks off at 5.30pm on Thursday July 23, continuing on into Friday 24
If you’re planning on heading to Longford Family Fest tomorrow and Friday, check out the video above where festival founder, Longford man Niall Gannon, chats through the exciting line-up. Don’t forget, admission is free!
From 5.30pm tomorrow evening, Thursday July 23, lively music will be kicking off on the big stage outside Dealz in Market Square.
On Friday at 1.30pm, the festival will bring to the town square a market with plenty of stalls selling food, art, crafts, artisan products and much more. There will also be street artists, children’s activities, face painting and circus classes. A circus show for children can also be enjoyed at 3pm. This will be taking place at the main stage in Market Square.
From 5.30 Friday evening, the music will kick off again with lots more lively acts entertaining the crowd.

Explaining how the idea came about, Cllr Gannon said, “With the absence of a festival for the last few years, I spent the last couple of months seeing if we could run a small festival over the summer to get everyone out and about for a couple of nights.”
Cllr Gannon added, “We hope to create a market type environment on the Market Square for kids and adults alike on Friday July 24 before the music starts. We have a good collection of pop ups and stalls. The budgets are small but hopefully it won’t stop us having a few nights of fun.”
“I want to say a special thanks to a few good friends, some great bands and artists, Longford County Council staff, a gang of very talented young people, Longford Gardaí and local businesses for their help and advice over the last few weeks”
