Longford horse racing trainer Paul Flynn is hosting an 'Open Morning' at his yard this Sunday morning, June 25, from 10am to 12 noon.
From Celbridge, county Kildare, Paul enjoyed a fine career as a jockey, riding over 200 winners in Britain, primarily for trainer Philip Hobbs.
The highlight of his career in the saddle was undoubtedly his success on the Hobbs-trained What's Up Boys in the Coral Cup at Cheltenham in 2000 and the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury a year later.
Based in Colehill - Aughnavalley, Ballymahon (N39 W102), since 2006, Paul sent out his first runners as a trainer the following year and scored his biggest success when Moon Dice won the Guinness Galway Hurdle in 2011.
He also enjoyed notable wins with the likes of Drunken Sailor, Archie Boy, Save My Blushes, Liberty's Gift, Boher Call and Try Again.
Paul is set to welcome between 150 and 200 people to his yard and guests will be able to witness a typical day on Flynn's yard.
