VIDEO: Brace yourselves: winds build in north Longford as Storm Emma makes landfall

Strong winds are building across north Longford now as the county braces itself for Storm Emma.

A blizzard is forecast for this afternoon which will lead to heavy snowfall and below freezing conditions.

Gardaí say there will be zero visability across the entire country this evening and the public is being advised to say indoors.

Longford Co Council ceased gritting roads at 3pm today.
