Longford Chamber of Commerce together with seven other chambers across the midlands and west met with Minister Shane Ross earlier this week to discuss the upgrading of the road infrastructure in the region.
President of Longford Chamber of Commerce Derek Scanlon told the Leader today (Friday) that talks went well on the day and that sheer persistence, hard work and dedication would ensure that eventually there will be motorway from Dublin to Longford and beyond.
He also indicated that while the overall project would cost around €4m to complete. the economic benefit to the region would reap ten times that.
