Pre-production is underway in Ireland for a major new US TV series, which will be shot at Troy Studios in Limerick and on location across the Mid-West region.
As well as shining a spotlight on Limerick, Tipperary and Clare, The Wayfinders is a set to provide a jobs boost for the region with 140 crew members and up to 200 extras expected on set each day.
A fantasy tale born of myth and magic, The Wayfinders follows a group of unlikely heroes as they journey through a fractured realm in search of unity, purpose, and power.
The pilot episode was filmed last October at Troy Studios and Pery Square in Limerick and across the Mid-West, including at Knappogue Castle and Cratloe Woods in Clare, with battle shots filmed in Cahir Castle and beside The Rock of Cashel in Tipperary.
Featuring immersive storytelling, striking visuals, and a cast of both rising stars and familiar faces, the series promises to captivate fans of high fantasy across the globe.

Following the successful shooting of the pilot episode last October the full-scale production of Season 1 is now underway.
The cast includes Pirates of the Caribbean star Mackenzie Crook alongside Tamara Smart (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Resident Evil), Evan Fields (Hacks, Players), and Vincent Mattis (Teen Wolf: The Movie, The Dirt).
A collaboration between US-based Arrowstorm and Limerick-based Dark Day Pictures, the production is expected to generate an employment and economic boost to the region.
“We’re thrilled to bring The Wayfinders Season 1 back to Limerick and the region,” said producer Stephen Hall of Dark Day Pictures.
“As a Limerick local, it's incredibly exciting to make our magical show here and showcase our stunning locations and brilliant crews to the world. The support from the councils, businesses, and local community has been phenomenal. There’s something truly special growing in the Mid-West, and it’s an honour to be part of it.”
With pre-production already in motion and filming set to commence this month, The Wayfinders is poised to put the cinematic potential of the Mid-West on dazzling display.
A casting day took place recently for positions to feature in a “medieval fantasy TV show” as an Orc, fairy, sorceress, knight or princess.
More casting news is expected in the coming weeks along with broadcast details.
