The countdown is on to the highly-anticipated Longford Summer Festival, which takes place in Connolly Barracks on the weekend of June 24 - 26.
Following on from the huge success of last year, organisers have put together a programme of events which will cater to all tastes and ages, with all proceeds going to St Christopher's Services.
Live music throughout the festival will boast a wealth of local talent, while the night-time entertainment includes the likes of Longford's own Brave Giant, Reprisal, Tomas Skelly and 4 Degrees West, with national favourite Mundy also scheduled to perform.
Craft beer fans will love the 'Beer Hall', where St Mel's Brewing Company will showcase their full range of products and introduce attendees to new beers. The Midlands tented village, meanwhile, will host our best artisan food producers, craftspeople, home and garden ventures and local businesses from 11am until 7pm on both Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26.
Leading Irish chefs, including Gary O'Hanlon (Viewmount House), Paul Horohoe (PS Red), Fiona Egan (Cloughan Farm & Cookery School), Kieran Glennon (Patrick Guilbaud Restaurant) and Louie Oubihi (The Black Olive) will give demonstrations at selected times throughout the weekend, while a unique exhibition, courtesy of the Longford Amateur Photographers Group, will give those in attendance a fresh view of our beautiful county.
Add to all that Storytime with Maggi, the opening night beach party, Reuben the Magician, Punch and Judy shows, arts and crafts with Creative Ardagh a petting farm and much, much more, and patrons can look forward to an unforgettable family weekend right here in Longford.
