The organising committee is asking for photographs or other pictorial memorabilia to make display boards for this day of celebration.
Fine Gael Cllr Paul Ross, principal Tara Mulvihill and several other local people are part of the organising committee.
Cllr Ross said the golden jubilee celebration will commence with a mass performed by Bishop Paul Connell at 11am.
“All students, ex-students and parishioners are invited to attend,” he added.
Cllr Ross said a special ceremonial walk will also take place from the old school building (pre-1976) to the new school on March 20 as part of the golden jubilee celebration.
“On the first day in 1976 when the new school opened 50 years ago the pupils walked the distance of about 150 metres from the old school to the new school and we will be recreating that walk,” Cllr Ross added.
