The auditions are for three one-act plays, and there are plenty of parts to get
There will be auditions on September 4 at Backstage Theatre at 8pm. All are welcome to attend for for the available roles.
These auditions are for upcoming short plays. In October, plays will include 'Baby Steps' by Moira Mahony and Sarah Fahy; 'Dada' by Frank Houlihan; and 'She Said, She Said' by a group member called Michele Ciba.
Frank Houlihan's 'Dada' won the Drama League of Ireland/Amateur Drama Council of Ireland Playwriting Competition, in association with the Ramor Theatre Virginia. 'Baby Steps' was a runner-up in the All-Ireland one-act finals.

“This is Michelle's first play and it’s a very good play. It’s extremely well-written. I will be directing that play,” said Ollie Kenny in relation to 'She Said, She Said'.

As for what the group is looking for during these auditions, Ollie continued: “We just try to match the characters with the people who come in. They will read those parts and see who fits those particular characters. There are plenty of parts to be played.”
Those who want access to the scripts can reach out to Ollie via olliekenny2306@gmail.com.
“Newcomers are always very welcome and we try to facilitate as many people on the stage as we can. There are loads of parts not on stage, like lighting, stage management, assistant stage managers. It’s very much a socially organised organisation. People enjoy being in the group.”
