Abbeylara's impressive under 14 handballers are celebrating today after they captured double All-Ireland John West Féile na nGael glory at Kilglass GAC Centre, Roscommon.
The Abbeylara quartet of Seanan Neilon, Marc Galligan, Adam and Thomas Finn captured the first title for Longford, as they triumphed in the John West Féile na nGael Division 3 Boys Handball Final, getting the better of Clann Eireann in a dramatic tie-breaker.
The Abbeylara girls team Eimer Galligan, Holly O’Shea, Sophie O’Connor, Lauryn Monaghan and Mia O’Connor followed up this success by becoming John West Féile na nGael Division 2 Girls Handball Champions.
There were scenes of great delight as the Abbeylara players celebrated their victories and congratulations to them, their families and their mentors.
