Community Mental Health series of talks in the Longford Arms Hotel

Grow Mental Health are delivering a Community Education Programme in the Longford Arms Hotel on Wednesday, May 1 for four weeks and it promises to be hugely informative series of talks which will be focused on giving the community a deeper insight into better mental health for all of us.

The event is open and free to everyone, and all are welcome to attend over the four weeks.

This year will see the former Governor of Mountjoy, John Lonergan (Author) and Psychotherapist Caroline Crotty lead off our four week program delivering a very insightful talk on “Living a contented life”.

The following Wednesday evening, May 8, Brian Walsh award winning psychotherapist/counsellor will deliver an evening of helping each of us to gain more “Understanding and Management of depression”.

Our third evening, May 15, Patrick Jones from the National Office of Suicide Prevention for Westmeath/Longford region will deliver his evening on “Let’s talk about suicide” -a very important topic for all of us. All presentation will start at 7.30pm to 9pm.

The final week, May 22 will see renowned Dietician and nutritionists Cathriona Hodgins speak on how a good or bad balanced diet can affect our mental health with lots of tips and advice to help us stay healthy - “Good Mood Brain Food”.

Overall, the series of talks aim to deliver a holistic exploration into the ever-important topic of positive mental health.

As it is a community-based programme, GROW will welcome all to attend one or all of the four week program.
