The Junior Girls National Champion at The Irish Pony Club National Tetrathlon Championships took place in Punchestown
It was a memorable weekend recently for Longford’s Evelyn Murray as she was crowned Junior Girls National Champion at The Irish Pony Club National Tetrathlon Championships in Punchestown.
Tetrathlon is a challenging four phase sport involving running, shooting, swimming and cross country horse riding.

The competition started on Saturday morning, August 16 with the shooting phase. Evelyn was in second place after the shoot.
She moved to 1st position after a super swim. She managed to maintain her position after a very strong performance in the run.
She embarked on the final discipline, the cross country riding phase which was over a strong and technical cross country course knowing that nothing but a clear round inside the time allowed would secure the Championship.
Thankfully Evelyn and her pony Tullura Fudge had a super clear round inside the time allowed bringing the National title to Longford.

Evelyn has shown a rich vein of form recently having also been a member of the successful Irish team that won the International Tetrathlon in Moreton Morrell, Warwickshire over the June Bank Holiday weekend.
