Successful One Act Drama Festival staged in Longford

Winners in the Open section were: Down at Heel Productions with their presentation of They Also Serve

Bog Lane Theatre was the venue for another very successful Ballymahon One Act Drama Festival. The 2024 iteration of the celebration of one act drama saw companies from all across make their way to the intimate midlands venue.


The festival is part of the annual circuit that sees theatre groups compete in open and confined sections for the coveted All Ireland Drama title.


After three days of intense competition the organisers announced the overall winners.

The winners in the Open section were: Down at Heel Productions with their presentation of They Also Serve. In second place was Kilrush Drama Group with Normal and the third spot went to neighbours Corn Mill Theatre Group with Melody.


In the Confined section Shannonside Drama Group won out with A Matter of Life and Death. The second place went to Longford group Cilleo Yew Tree Players and their production of Dead Man's Bells, while The Wilde River Drama Group scooped a third place with Aubade.
