This education programme is designed to equip current practitioners with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience needed to excel in the field of early childhood education.
The course is approved by the Qualifications Advisory Board (QAB) and meets the minimum qualification requirement for staff working directly with children in early learning and care services.
The Early Childhood Education degree program at SETU offers a comprehensive curriculum that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application.
Students will explore a wide range of topics, including child development, educational psychology, curriculum design, and inclusive education practices.
“We are delighted to work with SETU in offering this blended degree to our learners in Longford,” Pamela Latimer, Business Development Manager at Longford Women’s Link, said, “Our objective is to provide educators, who are not only knowledgeable about early childhood development, with an opportunity to upskill in their local area.”
This programme is designed to fit around the learners personal and professional commitments. Carrieanne Belton of Longford Childcare committee welcomed this initiative: “We welcome this excellent opportunity for education and professional progression for Early Years Practitioners in Co Longford and the surrounding counties.”
The NFQ Level 7 Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education and Practice is a three year programme; however this is an advanced entry programme, which means that if you have a level 6 major award in ELC, ECCE or equivalent, you may be eligible to join in year two.
Enrolment for the Early Childhood Education degree program is now open and will close on Wednesday, August 14.
