Longford #LE24: Power cut hits Longford local election count centre

Longford count centre lost power supply in the early hours of the morning when disruption in service in Edgeworthstown knocked out electricity.

The Count Centre for the three Municipal District elections is at St Mary's Community Centre, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford.

Returning Officer Mary Gouldsbury had called a halt to proceedings at 1:30am, and less than an hour later the remaining staff in the centre experienced the power cut.

The disruption has not had any impact on the counting process, with count staff resuming duties at 10am.
