North Longford saddened by death of Teresa Mc Nerney

Late Teresa Mc Nerney (née Harte), Molly, Aughnacliffe, Longford / Granard, Longford

The death occurred on Tuesday last January 10 of Mrs Teresa McNerney at her home in Molly, Aughnacliffe.

Beloved wife of the late Peter McNerney, Teresa or Tess as she was known as to her family and friends was daughter of the late John and Mary Harte and she was also predeceased by her brother Paddy and son in law Tony Shannon.

Tess was in her 93rd year and she had enjoyed good health up to recently.

A native of Toneywarden, Granard Tess was a past pupil of St Patrick's National school in Killeen and she loved to reminisce about her school days.

She had great stories of growing up in Toneywarden and loved to meet friends from there and neighbouring townlands of Leitrim and Coolarty.

For Tess and her husband Peter family always came first and they were blessed to see their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and their great faith has been passed on to each and everyone of them.

Teresa's remains reposed in Smith's funeral home in Granard on Wednesday evening and large crowds passed through to offer sincere sympathy to her family and to say a fond farewell to a much loved mother, granny and great granny and St Colmcille's Church in Aughnacliffe was packed for her funeral Mass on Thursday, January 12 after which she was laid to rest beside her beloved husband Peter in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery.

We offer deepest sympathy to her sons Pat and John, daughters Hannah, Carmel and Kathleen, daughters in law, sons in law, grandchildren Pete, Anita, Pauric, Shane, Anthony, Stephen, Patrick, Theresa, Jonathan, Tracy and Mark, great grandchildren Emma, Darragh, Cathal, Clodagh, Róise, Aoife, Kevin, Jane and Caoimhe, the extended Sheridan families and her close neighbours and many great friends who will miss her for a long time.

May she rest in peace.
