POLL: Irish families willing to spend surprising amount on communions and confirmations
With the cost of living at forefront of everyone's minds, communions and confirmations can present a challenge for some families.
As the communion and confirmation season is in full swing across the country, we asked people just how much they were willing to fork out on the occasion.
The results were definitely mixed, with no answer running away with the votes. The €750-€1,000 mark did come out on top with a modest 23% of the votes, representing a somewhat middle-ground answer in the figures listed.
Following close behind with 21% of the votes, was the €1,000-€1,500 category. Then in a sharp jump downwards, third place was the €300-€750 bracket with 19%.

13% of people voted to say they were willing to spend €1,500-€2,000, while 10% voted for the lowest amount of money listed which was €100-€300.
Interestingly, the higher figures on the poll did receive the fewer votes. The €2,000-€2,500 category received 8% of the votes, the €3,000+ category received 4%, and finally the €2,500-€3,000 bracket received the lowest amount with just 2%.
Evidently, what people are willing to spend varies considerably. Although most people voted within the middle ground, there still were notable percentages within the higher figures.
