Man killed, two others injured following horror crash involving lorry and two cars

A man has died and two others have been injured following a road crash involving a lorry and two cars.

Gardaí and emergency services are currently attending the scene of the fatal incident which occurred on the N11 at Crossabeg, County Wexford shortly before 5pm this Wednesday.

"A man, aged in his 50s, has been pronounced deceased at the scene. Two other individuals have received medical treatment at the scene for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening," confirmed a garda spokesperson. 

Motorists are  being advised the road will remain closed overnight with local diversions in place.  A technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators is ongoing. 

Investigating gardai say a man, aged in his 20s, has been arrested and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a garda station in County Wexford.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward and they are particularly appealing for any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, who were travelling on the N11 and its environs, between 4.45pm and 5.45pm on Wednesday to make this footage available.
