'An amazing lady' - Tributes paid after untimely death of popular Midlands auctioneer
Tributes are being paid this week after the death of Midlands auctioneer Kate O'Shea.
Kate ran an auctioneer business selling properties in Tullamore, Portarlington, Mountmellick and the general area along the Laois-Offaly border and throughout the Midlands. She set up her home and business in Portarlington but is a native of Walsh Island.
Her RIP.ie notice reads: "Formerly of Enaghan Walsh Island, Co Offaly, Kate died peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Beacon Hospital Dublin."

It says she will be "sadly missed by her loving and darling daughter Zara and her Dad, father Danny and mother Rose, sisters Orla, Aoife, Ashling and Grainne, aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and a large circle of friends."
Tributes have been flooding in for Kate who was hugely popular across both counties and further afield.
One person said: "So sorry to hear this sad news, what a lovely woman Kate was. I had the pleasure of knowing her and her family, and to Zara, keep yourself strong always here. Sincere condolences to you all may Kate rest in peace."

Another local added: "Our deepest condolences to all of Kate's family at this time. Such a huge loss for you all. We are thinking of you. What an amazing lady she was. May she Rest in Peace."
A third person sent "sincere condolences to Kate's family and friends," adding, "we only met Kate recently but she made an immediate impact on us, such an impressive person, so friendly, efficient, and creative."
A fourth tribute read: "My deepest sympathy to Zara and all the O'Shea family on the very sad passing of Kate, an absolute wonderful lady and such a good friend. You will be so sadly missed rest in peace."
Funeral Arrangements:
Reposing at Maher's Chapel of Rest, Portarlington (eircode R32 X5XV) on Thursday evening from 5pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Friday morning at 11:10am (travelling via her residence) arriving Church Of The Immaculate Conception Walsh Island for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.
