Passengers travelling from Galway to Heuston advised of delays as 'train strikes cow'

Iarnród Éireann have advised passengers travelling from Galway to Heuston to expect delays as the train has struck a cow.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), a spokesperson for Iarnród Éireann said: "Galway to Heuston has struck a cow. The train is stopped between Athlone and Clara as a crew has arrived on site to assist."

The spokesperson confirmed passengers should expect "approximately a 70 minute delay."
