A speeding offence by a driver has resulted in them facing a dangerous driving charge.
The car was clocked doing 155km per hour in Westmeath this week.
The driver was caught doing that speed, 55km over the speed limit, by Gardaí from Delvin Roads Policing.
The social media post by gardaí confirmed the arrest.
While the national road safety campaign by gardaí over Christmas has ended, drivers were warned that enforcement on roads in relation to drink-driving and speeding is ongoing.
Gardaí from Delvin Roads Policing detected a car on the N52 in Westmeath this week travelling at 155km/h in a 100km/h zone.
