Roscrea and Nenagh Gardaí, with assistance from the Garda Southern Region Dog Unit, searched a property in Roscrea on Thursday last and seized a significant quantity of illegal fireworks.
The Gardaí said the fireworks would have caused a disturbance for older people, vulnerable members of our community and livestock and pets.
The Gardaí have also issued a warning to communities in the Midlands ahead of the Halloween period that fireworks are illegal and possession of them carries serious consequences.
The Gardaí are reminding the public that fireworks can cause serious injuries to children and animals and the Gardaí are urging anyone with information about their sale or supply to contact their local Garda Station.
