After a near five year hiatus, one of north Longford’s most popular fundraisers returns with a bang next week.

Longford's Finest Truck & Tractor event comes back onto the local scene for the first time since 2017 in a bid to raise much needed funds for local charities.
Approximately 130 trucks arrived to the Mastertech Business Park, where they parked up and enjoyed a day’s entertainment.

The day included a number of entertaining competitions, which saw truck drivers dropping and picking up trailers, and reversing competitively.
Fast forward half a decade, the event is once again promising to deliver plenty in terms of entertainment.

This year Cavan Dialysis Patient Comfort Fund & SOSAD Cavan are the two main beneficiaries from an event which has raised in excess of over €100,000 for charity over the years.
Chief organiser Norman Hall told of how Cavan Dialysis Unit has 74 patients weekly, many of whom endure a gruesome schedule of 3 times weekly dialysis.

The team in Cavan provide a comfortable and dignified service to all who attend the unit, added Norman.
All monies raised will go directly to the patient comfort fund which ensures that the staff can maintain the excellent service given to patients whilst they undergo treatment.

It all gets underway on Tuesday December 27 at Longford’s Mastertech Business Park.
All trucks and tractors will assemble at Mastertech Park Longford where there will be live entertainment by Declan Nerney and Truck/Tractor competitions.

The run leaves Longford to finish in Creegans Bunlahy where there will be an auction/raffle and live music by the Midlanders & Nite Fever.
