Longford's Fantastic Mr Fox hits the high notes down under

Longford-born Australian actor Bobby Fox is having a busy time. His latest show sees him draw on his Longford roots for a production that showcases the enormous breath of his talent.


In his latest show Bobby combines a range of performing skills in a celebration of his heritage and homeland. “The Irish Boy” is a stunning combination of traditional and modern Irish music, dancing, storytelling and song brought to life through Bobby’s unparalleled showmanship. It's a charming, humorous and heart-warming show.


Bobby originated the role of Frankie Valli in the Australian production of Jersey Boys which he performed over 850 times.
He is one of the brightest stars in Australia’s entertainment industry. In a career that spans musical theatre, dance and the recording industry, he is considered one of the most charismatic and talented performers in the country.


He moved from Longford to Australia 2003 and immediately cemented his place as one of our country’s most in-demand leading men, starring in Jersey Boys, Hot Shoe Shuffle, Blood Brothers, Assassins and Saturday Night Fever.


His debut album The Fantastic Mr Fox was released by Warner Music Australia and saw Bobby embark on an extensive, sold-out tour of Australia.
He is a former four-time World Irish Dance Champion and toured with dance productions Riverdance, Dancing on Dangerous Ground, To Dance on the Moon and starred in the revival of Australian musical Hot Shoe Shuffle as Spring.


On stage Bobby has also had lead roles in Blood Brothers, Mamma Mia!, Leader of the Pack, Dusty – The Original Pop Diva, We Will Rock You, Spamalot and The Production Company’s Oklahoma, Guys and Dolls and Sweet Charity.
In 2016 and 2017 he appeared in Ladies in Black which toured Australia and for which he received a Green Room Award nomination.


Later in 2017, he performed in Assassins at The Hayes Theatre for which he received a Helpmann Award nomination. In 2019 Bobby will be a Star Vocalist in GFO’s Saturday Night Fever.
On screen Bobby’s credits include Upper Middle Bogan, It’s a Date, Tricky Business and Househusbands. He also appeared in the feature film The Cup.


His debut album, The Fantastic Mr Fox features a duet with Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr. It’s a cool blend of 1960’s Mod Jazz and Swing.


Bobby is a captivating live performer whether in musicals or as a solo artist and he is also one of Australia’s most in-demand corporate and event entertainers. Bobby is also working on a Careless Whisper, a show paying tribute to George Michael which will be staged next year.
