Longford girl Sophia supported on her charity journey

This year over 20,000 women took to the streets of Dublin to run or walk in the 2023 Vhi Women's Mini Marathon. This was the 41st year of the event, which since its inception has raised over €226 million for charities in Ireland.
The charity ethos of the event is a big part of the day. One Longford participant, Sophia Glennon, organised a fundraiser for Epilepsy Ireland around the event. Set up by Andréa Glennon the charity page continues to raise funds for the worthy cause.

On the GoFundMe page Andréa wrote: “Thanks so much for everyone coming yesterday, supporting Sophia in walking the Mini Marathon. I’ve set up a page if people would like to donate to Epilepsy Ireland.”

Epilepsy Ireland's vision is to achieve a society where no person's life is limited by epilepsy. They are committed to working for and meeting the needs of everyone with epilepsy in Ireland and their families and carers.
They achieve those goals by focusing on four main pillars of work; providing support and information services, raising awareness and advocating for people with epilepsy, providing training and education and undertaking & supporting epilepsy research.

Andréa's fundraiser on behalf of Epilepsy Ireland has raised €1,210 so far.
All donations go directly ot the charity. If you would like to donate you can to to the webpage: www.gofundme. com/f/sophia-glennon- fundraiser-for-epilepsy- ireland
