Award winning top Longford restaurant closes doors

An award winning top Longford restaurant has closed its doors.
Winner of Best Longford Restaurant in 2022 and Best Chef and Best Wine Experience in 2023 at the Leinster Regional Final of the Irish Restaurant Awards, the Aubergine Nua, located on Longford town's Ballymahon Street possessed a glowing reputation for fabulous food and news of the restaurant's closure has been greeted with dismay locally.

The 2023 awards were presented on March 14 last with the accomplished Satish Jothi being honoured as Best Chef, an award sponsored by BWG Foodservice.

The first floor restaurant, which has an area of 2,000 square feet, a wine/beer licence attached and seating for sixty customers is currently advertised for lease on Daft.ie
Rent on the premises at 17 Ballymahon Street, Longford town is negotiable and more information can be obtained by contacting 086 392 3431.

Interested leasees must have relevant qualifications or an established track record in the hospitality industry / licensed trade and be able to provide references from their professional advisors, accountants and supply relevant employment / trading references.
According to Daft.ie, this is an 'excellent opportunity to acquire a prime first floor restaurant unit located on the main trading street in Longford town'.

Fitted out to a high spec with kitchen, separate ladies, gents and staff toilets, store room and office, the unit is located next door to Boots pharmacy and Specsavers opticians and is very close to the intersection between Main Street and Dublin Street.
The Longford retail trade is focused along two main streets, which are Ballymahon Street and Main Street.

The area radiating from the intersection of these streets has the highest footfall within the town. The restaurant is located within 5 minutes walking distance of the offices of various professional services firms including Longford County Council and Court House.

There is a 100 space car park located to the rear of 13/16 Ballymahon Street.
The property was newly constructed in 2000 and has three phase electricity.
