Over 100 women in business from Longford, Leitrim and Westmeath gathered to “Embrace Equity” during Local Enterprise Week earlier this month.

The event, organised by the Tri County Women in Business Network, took place on International Women’s Day Wednesday, March 8 in the Mullingar Park Hotel.

It was jointly hosted by the Local Enterprise Offices of Longford, Leitrim and Westmeath and showcased female entrepreneurs from a spectrum of business sectors and stages of their business journey.

Three inspiring women featured as keynote speakers on the day. They told their stories of how they set up their own successful businesses, overcoming personal and professional challenges along the way.

While all three businesses operate in very different sectors, passion and strength to navigate obstacles was a common theme to all.

Longford’s Pat Murphy, Chairperson of the Tri County Women in Business Network chaired a very successful networking session.

Christine Charlton, Head of Enterprise in the Local Enterprise Office Westmeath closed the event by informing attendees of the supports available from the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) for small businesses.
