Longford beholds the King in all his glory

Longford beholds the King in all his glory

Adjectives 1. a word naming an attribute of a noun, such as sweet, rich, or technical. So what is an Adjective to describe a show by actor and writer Pat Kinnevane?

Well, you could go with sweet, rich, or technical, but any words chosen to describe the qualities or states of being of the show would be a disservice to the Olivier award winning performer.
A simple review of his latest work would read: “Pat came to Backstage last week, the audience loved him, and he loved them in return.”

His show, King, tells the story of Luther, a man from Cork named in honour of his Granny Bee Baw’s hero, Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Luther only leaves his apartment for essential journeys, and to perform as an Elvis impersonator. The play explores prejudice, privilege, and resilience, as Luther struggles to live life to the full.

It's a remarkable blend of humour and pain, strength and instability, pain and pleasure.
Kinnevane's one man shows are extraordinary. He slips between characters with such ease that the departing audience would be forgiven for thinking they witnessed a show with a full cast.
King by Pat Kinnevane at Backstage was a testament to the importance of art in enriching our lives.
