The news that veteran US folk-rock star David Crosby died at the age of 81 had a particular significance for one Longford man.
Longford town's Kevin Madigan has worked with the man who helped establish two bands who dominated the sounds of the 1960s: The Byrds, and Crosby, Stills and Nash.
David Crosby was renowned for his guitar-playing and vocal harmonies in a career that saw him achieve the rare feat of being inducted to the revered Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice.
Over the last decade Kevin has worked as the go to FOH, mixing and recording engineer for David Crosby.
In his social media post Kevin wrote: “I spent many nights with this view of Crosby, Stills and Nash and the music and songs that came with it. We were going to do a show at the Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara next month.
“He was full of joy at the prospect of playing live when I saw him at rehearsals a few weeks back. It's hard to believe that Croz is gone now. I'm very grateful for the amazing music, friendships and fantastic places it brought us.”
