Monaghan’s Craft Butchers on Killashee Street, Longford town, has received planning approval for its proposed extension.

A well-known Longford town butcher has been granted planning permission for an extension to its premises on Killashee Street.

Planning permission has been approved for Monaghan's Craft Butchers, which allows for the partial demolition of an existing single-storey storage building to the rear of the property.

Approved plans also includes the construction of a new two-storey rear extension.

At ground-floor level, the extension will provide for additional cold storage facilities while the first floor will accommodate new living accommodation. Planning permission also covers all associated ancillary site works.

The applicant was listed as Oliver Monaghan.

Planning permission was granted subject to 11 conditions, which ensure sustainable development, energy efficiency, proper waste management, visual and residential amenity, road safety and adequate drainage.

There were no objections to the proposal.
