New Longford County Council Cathaoirleach Cllr Turlough McGovern
Longford County Council is in line for another major honour after it was shortlisted in the Health and Safety Excellence Award 2023 under the Public Sector category.
The Health and Safety Excellence Award 2023 recognise and reward the most outstanding health and safety achievements in Ireland.
The nomination follows last year’s wins of the Regional (Midlands) Award and the Continuous High Achiever Award at the 31st Annual All-Ireland Occupational Safety Awards.
It also follows re- accreditation to ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Standard.
Longford County Council Cathaoirleach Cllr Turlough McGovern said, “This shortlisting again highlights the hard work and dedication of council employees and management and other stakeholders, working together to maintain excellence in health and safety. Congratulations to everyone involved on this nomination.”
Longford County Council Chief Executive Paddy Mahon added, “This nomination reflects the emphasis the Council has placed on health and safety. It is a credit to our employees, our management team and all stakeholders.”
The awards ceremony takes place on Wednesday, 29 March at The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dublin.
