Longford’s latest All-Ireland Boxing Champion Martin Gerard Nevin
Talented Longford boxers enjoyed great success at the recent All-Ireland Youths Boxing Championships in the National Stadium and the latest title winner is Martin Gerard Nevin.
Nicknamed ‘Rocky’ in the ring, young Nevin from Longford town conquered all in Leinster on his way to the All-Irelands and he ended up beating a very good boxer from the renowned Neilstown Club in Dublin on a split decision in the final.
Competing in the Boy 1 43 kg division, there was just no stopping Martin in his glorious triumph after training so hard at the Rudiarius Boxing Club in Longford where he is affiliated.
