Longford boxing star John Nevin, winner of back-to-back All-Ireland titles at the National Stadium this Saturday
15-year-old John Nevin, son of former Longford Slashers senior football championship medal winner Martin ‘Butch’ Nevin, produced a tremendous performance to win back-to-back All-Ireland Youth Boxing titles at the National Stadium in Dublin on Saturday last.
Competing in the Boy 4 52 kg division, St Mel’s College student John won his title bout on a unanimous decision against a three times Irish champion from Belfast.
It is a fantastic achievement by young Nevin who would like to thank his coaches at the Olympic Boxing Club in Galway for his success and thanks also to St Mel’s College Principal Malachy Flanagan for his support.
