Longford’s Jade Hoare is competing at the Official Strongman Games European Championships for the title of Europe's Strongest Woman in the under 82kg category this weekend in London.
The big event is being held in the Excel Arena in London and it begins on Friday and is a 3 day competition. So Jade will be competing on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. The athletes will go head to head in six events held across the 3 days.
Day 1 consists of a 90kg Log Press which has to be taken from the floor and pressed overhead for reps and a Super Yoke run with 260kg.
Day 2 first event is a sandbag steeplechase with two 100kg sandbags followed by a deadlift ladder starting at 170kg, second bar is 190kg, third bar is 210kg and finishing at 230kg.
The final day events are a 120kg Shield Carry and ending the day on Powerstairs which consists of four implements weighing 120kg, 130kg, 130kg & 150kg and each have to be lifted up 3 steps.
29-year-old Jade is currently living in Aughnacliffe but was born in Longford town. She has won Ireland’s Strongest Woman in the under 82kg category for the last two years.
