98 Hall Committee

There will be a meeting of the committee on Wednesday, 25th November at 8pm in meeting room. While the committee welcomes 4 new members, we require more new members if we are to continue after May 2016.

Monaduff Social Club

There will be a committee meeting on Monday, 23rd November at 8p.m. in the Clubrooms. Christmas Party will be held in the Clubrooms on Saturday, 5th December from 2—6p.m.

Ballinamuck Community Christmas Party

A committee meeting will take place on Wednesday, 25th November in the meeting room of the 98 Hall at 9p.m. New members welcome. Christmas Party will be held on Sunday, 13th December in the Hall at 2.30p.m. Anyone who would like to entertain, please contact Mary Breslin on 0861777294. Annual church gate collection will take place on Sunday, 29th November. Please support.


On Friday, 4th December the Village Inn will host a table quiz fundraiser for the Children’s Medical & Research Foundation (Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin). The CMRF carries out life changing and lifesaving research for a range of conditions effecting children. Your support will ensure this vital work continues. Start time is 10pm and a table of 4 is €40. For more information contact Pat on 086 8355100.

Chess Club

Drumlish Chess is now up and running and is open to all. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to improve, players of all levels are welcome to take part. Ballinamuck Defibrillator Scheme

A refresher training night will be held on Wednesday, 25th of November in the 98 Hall at 8pm. All previously trained personnel are invited to attend to ensure your cert is up to date. Phone or text 0879613312 to confirm your place.

Primary Schools Boards of Management

The following parents were elected to the two primary schools Boards of Management - Drumlish: Marie McKeon & Paraic Brady; Ballinamuck: Pauline Larkin & Pat O’Toole.


Next Sunday is the beginning of Advent and the new Liturgical year. The Advent Wreathe will be blessed during Masses. Readings for the Sundays are from Year C and for weekdays from year 2.

On Sunday next, the parents of the First Communion Class are responsible for readings, Prayers of faithful.


Congratulations and best wishes to Michael Curwin and Aoife Douglas who were married last weekend in St Patrick’s church, Ballinamuck and reception after in Mullingar.

Tidy Towns

Drumlish Tidy Towns and Village Enhancement extend their deepest sympathy to Dympna Davis and family on the death of Phil recently. Phil was one of the founding members and trustees of the Drumlish Community Association in the 1980s right up to recent times and was with his team was responsible for the great legacy that is our Community Centre - May he rest in peace!

Fireside Tales

Jude Flynn will launch his latest edition (13th) this Thursday, 26th November at Longford Library at 8pm.

Community First Responder Scheme

You are invited to a presentation on setting up Community First Responder Scheme in Newtownforbes and surroundings areas on Thursday evening 3rd December at 8pm in the Parish Hall, Newtownforbes. John Fitzgerald from Community First Responder Ireland will be giving the presentation. This new Scheme is training people life saving skills in Cardiac Arrest, Heart Attacks, Stroke and Chocking situations. This new initiative is Licenced under Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council and will be a supporting our local Defibrillator groups and also local Gardaí and the HSE under the National Ambulance Service. Happy Birthday

We congratulate Shane Quinn, son of Eileen and Mickey who turned 21 recently and celebrated in style in the Village Inn, Drumlish on Friday night.

A happy 21st birthday to Anthony Keane, son of Seamus and Ann and Mark Breslin, son of Mark and Yvonne who also turned 21 recently and had a joint party in the Village Inn on Saturday night.

Kiltycreevagh School Re-Union

Kiltycreevagh N.S. will hold a Weekend Celebration next year on the 12th, 13th, and 14th August 2016. A book is been compiled to commemorate this occasion. We are seeking old Photos and stories that people wish to share and have published in this Book. Photos and stories can be scanned and emailed to Alternatively these can be given to a Committee member. (email for details on committee members). Please put your name on the back of photos, so they can be returned after they have been scanned.
