Longford District Court: Woman ‘in serious jeopardy’ to reappear on drug driving charges

A woman facing a number of driving charges is due to reappear before Longford District Court in October when a probation report is to be furnished ahead of a possible custodial sentence.

Jennifer Forde, 40 White Line Woods, Longford, appeared last Tuesday before Judge Bernadette Owens, facing a number of charges, including drug driving.

Solicitor for the defence, Mr Frank Gearty said his client was indicating a guilty plea to all charges.
“She is in serious jeopardy because of the offending, which took place while she was disqualified, so you may wish to consider a probation report,” he said.

Judge Owens agreed to direct a probation report but said the accused was to enter a bail bond, on an own bond of €200, with an undertaking that she will not drive a mechanically propelled vehicle.
“If you are caught driving, Gardaí will have a basis to come before me and seek a revocation of bail,” she said.
Ms Forde is due to reappear on October 8, 2024.
