The champions
2013 the flags flew high
Centenary celebrations
We all did enjoy,
Then the much work
and real training did begin,
With dedication determination
instilled in our hearts,
We soon got our winnings
off to a great start
As the weeks passed by
and teams did exit,
We soon realised a county final
We would contest it
and Cavan Gaels we would meet
In Breffni Park
O what a treat, a challenge
but not a defeat
Under dogs we were described
and the ratings did not apply
but one thing for sure
stars do exist
not only in the sky,
With 1-15 and subs as they came on,
they all played a big part,
kept their eye on the ball
and a great game was displayed
by each one and all,
with belief in themselves
a team effort you could see
and every quarter of the game
they still held the lead
History was made
When the captain held high
The Oliver Plunkett Cup to honour
his team mates standing close by
and each one the bearer
of their own distinctive style
Now lets not forget
team manager and all,
and truly a big thank you
to sponsors, supporters,
who truly rallied on
to see Ballinagh
the new county champions
after all.
