The potential president walked the streets of Longford town this late afternoon before the election
Catherine Connolly took to the streets of Longford town to canvass before Friday's election.
The gathering took place shortly after 5pm today, at the Market Square, where she was met by supporters who wanted to convey their concerns and hopes if she wins.

Followed by local supporters, she greeted people in and outside of Newsround, Specsavers, Heterich's and Pig Market Lane, before returning to the Market Square.

On the walk, she signed jackets, took photos and answered people's concerns that they hoped would be addressed if she wins the election.
