Walking Festival is an open invitation to all to join in our 3 days of walks - Friday 6th, Saturday 7th, Sunday 8th of May. Details of walks available on request. With the vintage shows starting up again members of Street Parish Park Vintage were busy last weekend with representation in Strokestown Easter Sunday Parade, Kilcoursey, and a tractor run with the Oldcastle club. STREETE WILDLIFE CLUB The club annual shoot was held on Sunday, 17th April last, over 70 shooters attended. The club wishes to thank everyone who helped out, and the following for their sponsorship -

Mullingar Electrical Mullingar, Quinn’s Supply Stores Edgeworthstown, and ROR Tractor Parts Granard. The club grounds will be open for practice on Monday next, 2nd May from 5pm to 7pm, and the County Longford sporting shoot will be held in Streete on Sunday 8th May next.

Anyone who wishes to join the club for the coming year must have their name with the club Secretary, Seamus Denning on or before the 1st May next.


The Ramblers will return to action after the Easter break next Sunday with a walk at Portlick, beside Lough Ree and near Glasson. The recent good weather will no doubt encourage the usual large turnout for this popular walk led by Paddy Croghan, Walks Organiser for the Ramblers. Cars will leave Boherquill at 2pm and gather at the garage on the Athlone road out of Ballymahon at 2.30pm. They will arrive at the car park at Portlick at 2.45pm.
