Cilleo Yew Tree Players
After many weeks of rehearsals, our upcoming production of ‘A Stolen Child’ directed by Mickey Kenny will take to the stage on Saturday 30th November, Sunday 1st December and Monday, 2nd December in Ennybegs Community Centre. Show starts at 8.30pm and doors open at 8pm nightly. Please note Saturday night mass time in Ennybegs will change to 7.30pm to facilitate parking on the night. Tickets cost 10euro. Shane Brennan 5K
Plans are at an advance stage for the 8th running of the Shane Brennan 5K. The designated charity this year is a local one, Longford Special Olympics. The run/walk is on St. Stephen’s Day at 1pm.

21st Birthday Greetings
Birthday wishes to local girls Sharon Sorahan, Gráinne O’Reilly and Aoife McCormack who celebrated their 21st at the weekend with a great Birthday bash in the Rugby Club. Congratulation girls.
GAA All Stars
Congratulations to Joe O’Brien, Clonguish who won Hurling Player of the Year for 2013. This award was presented at All – Stars Awards on last Saturday night in the Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule where Longford Hurlers, who won Division 3B of the National League and reached the final of Lory Meagher Cup Championship also received their medals. Club members from Clonguish presented with their medals on the night included Rory Breslin, Keith Curran, Eanna Daly and Joe O’Brien (captain). Well done to you all. Eanna Daly and Joe’Brien were also selected on the 2013 Lory Meagher Cup Champion 15 and were honoured recently at the GAA /GPA All Starts event in Croke Park.
The Newtownforbes Thursday Club meets in the parish hall every Thursday 2pm-4pm. There is a wide range of activities including outings, holidays, etc. New members over 50 are always welcome male and female.
Matsubayashi Shorin Ryu International Karate
Preparations are now well underway for our Christmas grading which takes place on Monday 9th December next. We have a large number of students applying for grading and we wish each and every one of them the very best of luck. We also remind our students that memberships must be up to date prior to grading. Well done to two of our students Patrick & Sorcha who both qualified for Regional Championships in Irish Dancing. We expect a demonstration when ye get back! The next first Friday/Saturday all night reparation and adoration vigil to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts of Jesus and Mary is scheduled for Friday 6th December. The Mulligan Sisters will perform Operatic and Sacred Arias along with Musical Theatre favourites in Concert at the Church of St. Camillus, Killucan, County Westmeath on Saturday November 30th at 8pm. Tickets available at the door and cost is €10.
